Sauna Detoxification Protocols

 

The user manual for saunas is as follows: get in the sauna, stay in there for as long as it feels good, hydrate. 

However, we shall provide a few specific protocols for those who wish to add a touch of grace

Preparations

  • Hydration: A concoction of nettle leaf, chamomile & thyme with a touch of salt, honey & chlorophyll. Drink whenever it feels appropriate, it will replenish electrolytes. 500ml / person is ideal.
  • Dry Brushing: Before entering the sauna, dry brush your skin with a natural bristle brush. This can help stimulate your lymphatic system, a part of the detoxification network
  • Essential Oils: Dilute one of the recipes in a bucket of water, apply to the stones as desired

The Forest Fresh

  • Goal: Deep cleanse, respiratory support, invigorating
  • Essential Oil Blend:
    • 2 drops Eucalyptus
    • 2 drops Pine or Fir Needle
    • 1 drop Peppermint
  • Duration: 15-20 minutes / round
  • Temperature: 70-80°C (158-176°F)

Citrus Cleanse

  • Goal: Uplifting, energizing, lymphatic support
  • Essential Oil Blend:
    • 2 drops Lemon
    • 2 drops Grapefruit
    • 1 drop Rosemary
  • Duration: 15-20 minutes / round
  • Temperature: 75-85°C (167-185°F)

Tranquil Release

  • Goal: Relaxation, stress relief, emotional detox
  • Essential Oil Blend:
    • 2 drops Lavender
    • 2 drops Cedarwood
    • 1 drop Roman Chamomile
  • Duration: 20-25 minutes
  • Temperature: 65-75°C (149-167°F)
